5 reasons to use TeachFX before your free trial ends

You signed up for TeachFX. Maybe you’ve given it a try in your classes. Maybe you haven’t gotten started yet. Here are 5 reasons why you should record your classes with TeachFX before your free trial ends…

1. Your talk ratio matters.

Ned Flanders’ research summarizes it pretty well: “Teachers of high-achieving students spent about 55 percent of the class time talking, compared with 80 percent for teachers of low-achieving students.” Where do you measure up?

2. Even one class can give you great insight into your teaching.

Can you guess what the most common reaction teachers have to seeing their first TeachFX class report? That’s right: “I can’t believe how much I talked!”

Awareness is a great tool we have in creating the lessons we want to see in our classrooms. Plus, aren’t you just a little bit curious to see your talk ratio?? Or how effectively you’re using wait time? Or maybe you want to know if you’re asking authentic, open-ended questions? Or how different classes compare to each other?

3. It’s so stinkin’ easy!

I was a teacher; I get it — you have a lot going on, especially this week. (Isn’t every week like that?) But using TeachFX is as simple as pressing one button. Now is a great time for an easy dose of formative self-assessment.

4. Be the “expert.”

Are you one of the first teachers at your school to download TeachFX? By getting started now, you can be a leader as others in your school start using the tool. It’s so easy to use (see #3) — just trying it out once or twice is enough to gain “expert”-level status.

5. Your free trial period is coming to an end.

It’s sad but true: all things must pass. Make sure to use your TeachFX trial before it’s too late!

If you want more time, just use the app to invite a few of your colleagues to join, and your free trial will be extended. Finally, to learn more about school and district subscriptions and our professional learning workshops, please drop me a line at jamie@teachfx.com. Happy teaching, everyone!
