Summer is right around the corner, and you’re enjoying (hopefully!) your last classroom moments with your students. Here are 5 reasons why you should analyze your final weeks of class with TeachFX…
1. Your talk ratio matters.
Ned Flanders’ research summarizes it pretty well: “Teachers of high-achieving students spent about 55 percent of the class time talking, compared with 80 percent for teachers of low-achieving students.” Where do you measure up?
2. Even one class can give you great insight into your teaching.
Can you guess what the most common reaction teachers have to seeing their first TeachFX class report? That’s right: “I can’t believe how much I talked!”
Awareness is a great tool we have in creating the lessons we want to see in our classrooms. Plus, aren’t you just a little bit curious to see your talk ratio?? Or to see if your talk ratio has changed over time???
3. It’s so stinkin’ easy!
I was a teacher; I get it — you have a lot going on, especially near the end of the school year. But using TeachFX is as simple as pressing one button. Now is a great time for an easy dose of self-assessment as you head into summer and think about your pedagogical goals for next year.
4. Be the “expert.”
Are you one of the first teachers at your school to download TeachFX? Next year, you can be a leader as others in your school start using the tool. It’s so easy to use (see #3) — just trying it out once or twice is enough to gain “expert”-level status.
5. Our free trial period is coming to an end.
This school year has been an awesome experience, with teachers around the country trying out TeachFX in their schools through our free pilot program. Next school year we’ll be offering school and district subscriptions — if you are interested, drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org!
Happy teaching everyone, and congrats on another fabulous school year!
